Brio Packaging

Situation

Lovegood Advertising was approached by Brio to help them create some retail packaging following a successful distribution deal with Bunnings nationally. Moving from B2B based distribution to hardware retail was an exciting proposition for the client, and they wanted to create maximum impact in a very crowded sales environment.

The work

The main challenges we faced in this project were;

  • Using brand assets in a unique and interesting way
  • Attract the right audience, educate them and instill confidence to purchase
  • Fittng into the environment while creating real impact
  • Working with a very limited design space (tall and vertical)

Brainstorming a number of designs with the client and establishing priorities for content, we used the space in the best possible way. Designing the whole range of packaging, being 24 products/packages, we established a uniform format to maximise shelf appeal and make the range really work together cohesively.

Staying close to the brand, we evolved it to the next level. We came up with a clean and simple look that showcased all aspects whilst still looking clean, modern and very appealing. The overall look was precise, reliable, easy and effortless, much like the brand itself.

Response

The project was for retail packaging in Bunnings in Australia. The client loved our good work so much they've rolled this packaging design out worldwide to be made in their New Zealand, United Kingdom and American divisions.
